Brandon recovered from jaundice

Brandon has recovered from jaundice and is doing really healthy. I would be taking a break for a while as recuperating for the chinese confinement month and will blog back soon :)

Poor brandon with jaundice..

Brandon was admitted to hospital on the 11th sept due to high jaundice level 215. He was put under a photo light.. was then reduced to 160.

After that we had him for follow ups from government, his jaundice level went up and down right now, it is at 116

Hopefully it will go down below 100 by saturday :)

The journey of breastfeeding and motherhood..

Having baby brandon is magical..and the journey has been full with ups and downs...
At begining, I started to breastfeed, and it wasn't easy to latch-on the baby... I was afraid I didn't have enough milk, I was afraid I can't be a good mother..there's so many things to pick up on, changing diapers, feeding the baby.... bathing the baby.. I remembered breaking down and cry because of that..

But thank god, with the support from my husband and friends, I have now picked up some skills, although not expert yet :) and will continue to learn and experience motherhood... milk supply has also picked up... :)

hello world, baby brandon :)

Haven't been updating the blog in a while..

Brandon Ng Yuan Khai was born on september 7th 2009, at 9.45pm. When I think back of the experience, all I could say is unbelievable and wonderful, suprisingly labor pains is no longer a pain..

On 6th september, on the doctor's checkup, the doctor had suggestion for an induction due to some minor complications. I started having some pains on the 6th night, and I remembered having a very good dinner before the next day. My hubby took me to a nice restaurant and we ordered lemon chicken, vegetables, prawns.....mm..yummy..On the 7th morning at around 3am, I started having some bloody show, was so excited baby is coming soon.....

Of course the journey to the hospital was not so pleasant, having pains on and off....the pain was like having bad menstrual cramps or feeling of diarrhoea. I was then pushed to the labour room, only to wait another 12 hours... What a 12 hours that was, the pain started at 1 hour intervals, followed by 1/2 hour, 15 minutes, few minutes and the pain was going stronger and stronger, of course... I was shouting in the labour room as it was closing to labour...thank god I had epidural, had me 2 hours without pain and a little sleep..

Around 8.30pm, the nurse said...your cervix is fully dilated, at that time they lowered the epidural and I was feeling the pain all over again, and they don't even let me inhale gas to lower the pain.. Doctor came in and said "your baby position isn't looking that good, baby is facing upwards instead of downwards". We waited 1 hour to see if there's any progress.

There were no progress at 9.30pm as the baby was still looking upwards, and the doctor said let's go for it and don't delay any longer. The nurses asked me to push and my hubby was in there too to support me. Funny thing, at first I didn't really understand the instructions, I thought I was pushing but all I did was pushed air :P

Finally I understood and really started pushing. Gave a few pushes, still no go.. Third time, doc said.. if this is no go, we have to go for caesarean. Oh no, tried pushing all I got...and voila..baby came out, heard him crying for first time. I couldn't describe how was my feeling when I heard his first cry..it was magical. Suddenly all the pains dissapeared..doctor was stiching then but I don't feel a thing...all I wanted to see my baby boy..

They weighed the baby, baby is 3.46kg and laid the baby in my arms for the first time. That was the most magical moment I ever had and then it started the wonderful journey of baby brandon and parenthood :)

2 more weeks to go

It's 38 weeks and Brandon is 3.1 kg. We can't wait for Brandon to be born, time is passing so slow..

At the same time, we're so excited to welcome baby Brandon to the world :)

4 more weeks to go :)

It's now 36 weeks and baby Brandon is 2.77kg. I can't wait till baby Brandon is born to this world..time just pass so slow...

mummy and baby safe and sound :)

Last Sunday mummy was admitted in the hospital for shortness of breath. It was a terrifying moment as mummy felt like mummy couldn't breathe at all and nothing helps to cure it. Mummy was then rushed to the hospital by daddy and mummy was being checked by the doctor and doctor and nurses gave mummy some gas and treatment, thankfully mummy and baby is safe now :)

These are the moments that terrify me and at that moment, all mummy could think about is baby's safety and health. Good thing is baby Brandon is strong and despite mummy was all weak, baby was having a higher pulse rate than mummy and is moving actively in mummy's body.

Loving the movement in mummy's stomach now, Brandon is actively moving up and down, even grandma and daddy feels it very often now. Grandma's face is all lighted up when she managed to feel baby Brandon and she even said she wanted to buy baby Brandon Haagen Daaz and Barney CDs :)

It's 8 1/2 weeks to go, and I just can't wait to hug my baby and give him a nice big kiss :)

Itchy red stretch marks

Mummy is developing itchy red strech marks on my tummy.... hope it goes away soon

New Fitted Sheet

27th June 2009 - mummy and daddy decided to make our own homemade 100% cotton sheet from sarung. In the last few weeks, mummy and daddy went to search around Penang for 100% cotton cloth but have no luck finding the right one, we ended up buying sarung for Brandon so that he can sleep comfortably and have sweet dreams every night :)

Aches

Recently mummy is having aches and tiredness because is in the 3rd trimester. Mummy is always sleeping and poor daddy didn't have much time to talk to mummy because mummy always asleep, mummy also have a lot of back ache , sometimes difficult to walk...hehe the way mummy walk is so funny with the back ache like an old lady :)

Daddy happiest day :)

Last Sunday daddy was very happy because daddy celebrated Father's day and his birthday, all fell on June 21st :) That was also the same day mummy and daddy went for a checkup at hospital to see baby Brandon :)

Baby Brandon is now 30 weeks old... and on that day baby Brandon closed his face with his hands...maybe too much light disturbing baby Brandon sleeping at that time. Anyway, mummy and daddy are very happy to see baby Brandon growing healthily. Brandon is now 1.2 kg and mummy stomach is getting big and heavy :)

Mummy made for daddy and grandpa mashed potato salad with green apple and cucumber, grandpa and daddy love it so much, mummy love it too, we finished all the salad :)

Anyway, earlier that week mummy took daddy to eat a romantic dinner at Eden restaurant. It was very romantic because the environment was very cozy, the lighting was just right and that was the first candlelight dinner we went to :)

During the night, auntie Wendy bought daddy a cake and we all sang birthday song to daddy and celebrated with him, cake was very nice and daddy had a wonderful birthday memory which he can't forget :)

First letter to baby Brandon..

Dear baby Brandon,

Right now baby Brandon is 26 weeks old in mama's stomach and very actively kicking mama especially at night :)

Papa loves to feel Brandon kicks and papa always puts his hand on mama's stomach to feel it. When papa managed to feel it, papa feels very happy and smile :)

Papa and mama love to tell Brandon story and love to talk to Brandon, hope Brandon likes the story, when Brandon comes out, we will tell more story to Brandon :)

Just remember that papa and mama love you very much :)
